Nantucket Turk's Head Rope Bracelet
Everyone knows what these are. Depending on where you live, these are known as sailor’s bracelets (because they’d use them to wipe their brows while swabbing decks), and friendship bracelets (because sailors would bring them back to their sweethearts).
In many coastal towns in New England, children would put on the bracelet at the beginning of summer when school ended and keep them on until summer's end and the start of the new school year. We see second and third generations of such activity here in the Marblehaed area.

These 2-strandbracelets are tied from 100% cotton and guaranteed to shrink to wrist size, as intended.
They come in four sizes (S, M, L, XL) ensuring a fit for almost all people.

| In much larger form, monkey fist knots are tied around a weighty object on the end of a heaving line to help dock a vessel. They still use one on the ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket. |

How this little cotton novelty is made is a mystery known only to the Nantucket Knotworks specialists.
One size fits all…kids and teens love them.
Just twist open the loop and use either of the two knots to adjust the size.
