Monday morning.....

Wow.....I'm a bit tired from staying up last night to watch the Pats game.  A huge win for them.  You know I'm a big Wes Welker fan (that's me wearing his jersey  watching the game last night), but how about Gronkowski and Carter!

I talked with Bill before the game and he was feeling good about his new defense......some new guys.  Anyway I wished him well and got back from my dinner walk in time to watch the start of the game.

I have to return a call to Tom today......I think he still wants me to help Chad with running routes.  Hey I'm a Golden.....I know a lot about running.

Anyway I'll get to the store around lunch time......some fishermen are coming in to pick up some boots and gloves.

If you are out and about....stop in the store and say hello.

Fall,

OK....here is a Marblehead Harbor joke:  how do you know when its fall?  When the docks move south!

I have some special friends.....Jim and Joan Stott from England.  We go for walks around town....always have a great time.  So, here they are again.....visiting Marblehead for a few weeks.  Great to see them again.....and, lots of walks.  I always try to show them some new things around town....we have a great time.  Here we are ready to get going.......

Just the nicest people......just heard they have a place here in Marblehead for the season.....I get to go out more!!!!!!!!

The Red Sox season is over (...tough luck Rangers!)  I'm not surprised, but really hope to see some changes next year.  I miss Tito.  Anyway, I just had a chance to talk to Ben now that he's in charge.....he agreed with me that along with serious pitching improvements, they need to work on better fielding.   He said if I get to go to Florida with my family this spring, I should stop by and meet some of the team......hear that Dad!

More excitement now....its football season.  Not much with the pre-season games, but its great to watch the season get going....bummer about HWjr.  I get Sundays off from the store when the Pats play the early game....part of my employment deal.   Wes is still my guy!
Did I tell you I have a Pats jersey with his name and number.  Way cool.

I hope the Pats become a more balanced team as the season moves along.  Their defense really worries me.  I talked to Bill after the Steelers game......he thought maybe I should visit the practice field at Gillette and give some pointers to the team about covering receivers.....hey! I'm a Golden.....we know a few things about open field running.

OK....some old friends are coming into the store.....haven't seen Isabel and Nick for a while.  Got to go.

If you are out walking around the harbor area....stop by the store....lets talk.

Late August,

What a great summer here in Marblehead.  I called Ann Marie recently to talk about things we can do to help promote our area.  Robert has some great ideas as well.......let's see what we can do.

So many people have been stopping by......lots of racers, cruisers, and other visitors.  So many new friends......one in particular came by....she came to Marblehead on her family's boat.  Her name is Trella......she had a good time around town and spent some time at our store.   Got a nice note from her family......

Hi Wilson, Jim, and Kathleen!

I’m writing to let you all know how much we enjoyed your store and getting to know it’s “staff.” Even before we identified our boating needs, you quickly offered to let our buddy, Trella, the boat’s admiral / Portuguese Water Dog visit while we breakfasted in the Driftwood.

It was delightful to see that our canines immediately became friends, and the humans followed suit! We loved meeting you and everything about Lynn Marine Supply. We hope to be able to return soon.

With warm wishes and a belly rub for Wilson,

Kathy, Julien and Trella

Hey....she might come back......sure hope so.

Late July,

Summer is here and it's wonderful.  There's no better place to be a dog than Marblehead.   Sometimes it gets a bit warm, but hey....how about a swim in the harbor!    Good fun.......I wear my lifejacket......its a good idea......no problem swimming, just easier to get back onto the dock so I can go for another jump.

Lots of interesting people have been visiting my family's store.  Lots of racing going on........neat boats and cool dudes!

I've been keeping up with the Red Sox especially since the All Star game.  Things are looking good.....but still some things about the pitching and fielding - right field????? - worry me.   But you know what I think......every day is a new opportunity......see I'm a Golden and every day is a great day.......even better if I can get some pizza.

I just read some good news.......the NFL strike might be settled soon and the Pats training camp will open soon.   Wes should be looking good.....Bill told me that they have some good new talent to look at.  Go Pats!

And......talking about rookies......I met a really new guy.....only a couple months old......name is Jack.  We had a nice sniff and wag.....I think he's going to grow up to be a fine fellow.

More July.....

I had a great 4th.....got to walk in the Horribles parade.....had Sam, Lily, and Mia along with me.....maybe next year Jackson, Ben, Penny, Sophia, and Oli will be there........spent some time checking out the street performers....Hey I can balance a milkbone on my nose and catch a ball.......got to talk to Eric about getting a gig going.   Anyway I  saw the fireworks......don't know how its done, but wicked cool!

A few days later I was out on the water......when we came back to the mooring I was looking at shore and thought WOW I get to live here!  Marblehead is the greatest place to be a dog!  So...I happened to have my iPhone with me and grabbed a picture......still having some troubles....if I only had thumbs.

If you are walking around the harbor area, stop in the store and say Hi.

Wilson

July......

Getting ready for the big 4th of July weekend......weather is great.  So many of my buddies coming around to the store now and I have met some really cool guys walking around.......especially Peanut, Hoover, Cooper, Rigger......and there's Serena.....WOW.

Walking to work early this morning I was looking at the harbor and saw a really fine sailboat......it was the Brilliant.  I used my iPhone (hey....gotta be connected) and grabbed this picture.   Later in the morning Capt Ham Moore came by from the boat and we had a nice chat.  The boat is from Mystic and like the Bowdoin is used for training young sailors......way cool.

Saltie's mom Louise came in this morning......just back from Nantucket........she finished reading The Art of Racing in the Rain...let me tell you......Enzo is the man.......

OK....back to work.  Be in touch.

Wilson

Late June.....

Wow....things are really active around the store.  I need a break!  I need to get over to Coffey's......softserve and a milkbone.....way cool!

So many new people to greet and get to know.......but I love it.    I am one lucky dog....Hey....I'm a Golden and things are always good.

Early in the morning I was walking by the dock on my way to the store and was surprised to see the Bowdoin....I guess I had heard about it from some of my friends via P-mail.....but there it was......right around the corner from our store.  Lucky for me I had my iPhone and got a good picture.....well it took a lot of tries.....things would be easier if I thumbs!

Hey....later in the day, Captain Eric Jergenson and Will McLain came by the store....good guys and we had a great time.  I learned the boat is used by the Maine Maritime Academy to help teach young people about sailing and responsibility at sea.     But they told me that way way back the boat was used to explore the Arctic areas......when I went home later, I checked out the globe in our library and I think it must be wicked cold up there......maybe a lot worse than Croker Park in winter.

Anyway I am also meeting many old friends who come back to Marblehead for the summer.......Bart stopped in, he and his family sailed up on Anada the Cherubini from the Keys......way better place than the Arctic!

OK....gotta go, more people coming in......looks like Doug....one of my fisherman buddies.

Memorial Day

This morning I got to watch the gathering at the Landing here in Marblehead.  I was thinking about how good life is and what is really important while watching the ceremony and I noticed some very old men.....and I know how grateful we should be for what they and so many others have done to help keep things good and safe for us.

Later in the day I met a good man.  1st Lt Kevin Adams stopped by to say hello and we had some time.  He told me that he was shipping out to Iraq in a few days......his tour is 400 days.  He said that moments like this are a great reminder of the good things back home and help get him through tough times.  I could not be more proud to know him as a friend.

Be safe Kevin.

May

Wow....the boating season is back.  It was a tough winter, but things are really picking up and there is so much to do.  And, Julie and Mark were a huge help to my family.  Can't thank them enough.

Anyway, lots of neat things happening.......I got to star in a video!  Take a look.  Somebody told me that this could go viral on YouTube.....Way cool!.....soon as I find my iPhone, I'm calling my agent.

It's great to see good friends again.....and I'm are meeting many more new friends.  Always good to see my buddy Father Frank.

We took a break a few days ago and I had one of my favorite treats.......soft serve with a biscuit.......way to go Coffeys!

And I get to spend some time at Crocker Park and at Ft Sewell.......so much P-mail to get caught up with.

Hey...if you are out and about.....stop in and say hello.

Wilson

March

Just heard from my buddy Salty

Hey Wilson.
Salty here.

When the weather gets a little better, you should come over and have a few bones with me.  We can toss some tennis balls around, perhaps chew on some sticks, chase a squirrel or two.  And I've got a neighbor you'll love, a nice woman named Pru who stops her car every time she sees a dog - even if it isn't a Golden - and hands out Milk Bones!  She's not stingy, either, so it's worth it to come over for a walk and see if we can run into Pru.

I'm sort of enjoying the winter - roll in the snow a bit, then settle down by the fire.  Looking forward to that first plunge into the ocean, though.

Oh, and if you haven't figured it out yet, ALL FedEx men carry bones, too.  Nice people.

February.......

It is really cold outside......but this is a great place to keep warm.  I can also keep an eye on my family and who knows....maybe something tasty hits the kitchen floor....got to be ready!

So getting caught up with things......I watched the Superbowl with my family.  Good game but hey could have been the Pats!  Maybe next year.  I hear Welker might be ready by the start of the new season and maybe with a few good trades they can improve things.  I'll be in touch with the Krafts soon as I get used to my new iPhone.....I wish I had thumbs.

I got to go to some place called New York during the holidays.......big family get together......my cousins were there.....Nealy, Sammi, and Chickenbone (OK there's a story here....something to do with beer)....anyway I don't get to see them that often and we had a great time.  Also I got to play with the little ones......Olie, Sophia, Mia, and Penny......everybody had a great time.

Not much going on with the store....this is the slow time before the season gets going again.......think April!  Once and a while some friends stop by and we get caught up....all my buddies are wanting to see some warm weather and feel the grass under our paws again.

Wilson

Mid-October......

Well things are slowing down a bit at the store.......at least I get to sleep in a bit now that I don't have to be at the store by 7AM!

Still there's stuff going on........I just get a little more time to hang with my friends.

Anyway outside of work I am really excited because I really like football and now I'm getting some time to watch games.  I really was disappointed in the Red Sox this year......but hey if you can't hit, nothing good is going to happen.  Well maybe next year.

So here I am watching the NFL........the Patriots game......WOW how about Brady and Moss.....its about time those two got things together.  Also, I watched the Vikings game and Brett is my guy!  It looks like this is going to be a good fall season.......I'll keep you posted once I figure out which teams are the real deal.

Now if I could just get my family to order in pizza during the game!

Wilson

Late September.......

OK......here we are starting to enjoy this great fall weather.  And I'm working hard at the store.  Lots to do before the boating season ends for the year.

We get lots of visitors to the store......some come from far away.

Some new friends......Joan and Jim Stott from Chelwood Gate in England......been here visiting for a while and when they come by the store they give me a break from work and we go for a long walk around the harbor and I show them my favorite spots......they look.....I sniff.  Way cool!

They are going home soon......I'm going to miss them.

What a good time we have in Marblehead!

Wilson

Labor Day weekend......

What a workout!  So many new people coming in to shop in our store......and my fishermen buddies were here too.

And, hey, some people just come in to see me!  Way cool!

I've heard people say that every dog has his day.  Well, I'm a Golden and every day is our day!   Did I tell you that I had a special visitor.......Kelsy came in to see me.  My family took a picture.....my iPhone is hard to use with just my paws....what I could do with thumbs!  Anyway, here she is.......

She said she' be back.  HEY HEY.....she did come back!

Wilson

July 31

Well here we are really starting to enjoy the summer.  I love it.  Marblehead and the harbor - nothing better! OK OK ...... pizza!

I have been meeting some really interesting people in my family's store.  People sailing on trips to Maine, Newport. and lots of other fun places.  The fishermen come in to the store to get stuff and say hello to me......Jay, Dave, and Doug......good guys.

Anyway, today I met Charlotte.  She is really neat and a true sea dog.  Most of time she lives in London....she says go out of the harbor, turn slightly to the right and keep going and going and going.....a long way.  But she is back in Marblehead visiting for a while.  Her background is really interesting.....mom is from New Zealand, dad is from Australia, grandparents from England.  A real dog of the world with lots of time sailing......too cool.

Here's her picture......

She said she would visit again.

Wilson.

July 6

Wow!  I have been working hard at the store all weekend......met lots of really good guys who are all in hurry to get to some place called Halifax.

Anyway, I have some younger members of my family visiting....Doc Todd and Jeannie along with Ben and Jackson....you probably saw their pictures with me wearing Grundens for Kids..

The real fun came today when we went swimming off the dock at Crocker Park.  Here's a picture of me showing the Doc how its done!
Now something really important......even though I am a great swimmer - I am a Golden Retriever you know - I am wearing a life jacket.

My family knows it is easy to get tired in the water and the handle on the jacket makes it easy to get me back up onto the dock so I can jump in again.

What a great time.....

Wilson

July 4th.

What a great holiday in Marblehead.  So many new friends and their families came by the store.  I met Cooper who was sailing with his family from Newport to somewhere in Maine....he thought they wouldn't know where they were going until they got there and even then they still might not be sure!  Anyway, he was having a great time walking around town.

Another new friend stopped in to the store.  His name was Kody and he sailed up here from Boston on the Cest' Nous.  What an outfit!  OK...he is a big city dog!  Anyway check out the picture.

I just heard that Salty is back in town.  Need to catch up on things with him.....he sailed with his family from Marblehead to Nantucket. I hear it was a great trip.

OK....my favorite fisherman is coming in.....gotta go.

Wilson

Hi,

I'm Wilson and I have good times on and around boats and the ocean.

Now I'm sure you can tell that I am a dog and proud of it and I love being in the water.   I speak Golden and standard Dog and I can understand a lot of your words. Just as well we can't talk....can you imagine if we could!  Anyway, I'm OK with the computer.....I like Apple the best...sounds like something I can eat!   Who wants to eat a Window!

Marblehead is the greatest place to be a dog!  So many great parks around the harbor.....I love going to Crocker Park and I like watching the boats coming in and out of the harbor down at Fort Sewall.  And there is this really nice place called Coffey's where I get a special treat......softserve and a milk bone.....is there anything better?  YEAH...OK......PIZZA for sure!

Anyway, I work at my family's store on the harbor here in Marblehead mostly hanging out and greeting people.   I like to check out all the new stuff that comes to the store.......Scottie drives a big brown truck and always has a cookie for me.

Lots of my friends are on their family's boat and come by the store to talk about their latest fun trips and catch up on the local news....much better than having to check out the P-mail all over town.  I have told my friends to pass the bark about my blog and send in their stories and pictures.

OK somebody has just come in the store so back to work......if you are out walking by the harbor come on in......let's sniff and talk.

Wilson
